In the conduct of port operation, piloting, and towing services at the Antalya commercial port, Port Akdeniz (Ortadoğu Antalya Liman İşletmeleri AŞ) is committed to:
• Keeping all parties within its area of operation informed about the HSE implications and other essential aspects of all the strategic decisions that it makes;
• Being mindful of the interests of all stakeholders with whom it interacts;
• Minimizing the ecological and occupational health and safety risks involved in port operations through effective management;
• Acting in compliance with all current national and international occupational health and safety and environmental rules and regulations;
• Reducing marine pollution arising from vessel and port operations as much as possible;
• Installing and maintaining all necessary technical infrastructure that will prevent industrial accidents;
• Installing and maintaining internationally integrated management systems in its operational areas that will ensure the security of employees and all beneficial parties and will protect a continuously improving infrastructure.
Port Akdeniz has launched project to qualify for and receive OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certifications. Its aim is to complete these activities before the end of 2009.
