GLOBAL INVESTMENT HOLDING INC.
The story of Global Investment Holding began in the 1990s when the company was known as Global Investment Securities. Turkey’s biggest independent investment banking firm and brokerage house since the day it was founded, Global Investment Securities today controls an extensive portfolio of investments in infrastructure, real estate, and energy companies.
In line with the new corporate strategy that it adopted in the wake of the economic crisis experienced in Turkey at the beginning of the 2000s, Global Investment Holding’s foundations were laid and the new company commenced operations on 1 October 2004 as an investment bank and brokerage house.
Under this new structure, the name “Global Investment Securities” began to be used by both the newly-formed investment banking firm and the brokerage house.
Global Investment Holding for its part focused its attentions on investments in infrastructure, real estate, and energy. As a result of a strategic decision taken by management, the company’s life insurer Global was sold to DenizBank, which had been acquired by the Dexia Group (one of the 15 biggest financial institutions in the Euro zone) in 2006.
Global Investment Holding has since undergone another transformation and is now a company that operates as a “quoted private equity fund”. Unlike many other holding companies that have diversified portfolios, Global Investment Holding is a firm that engages in no “physical” activity–which is to say that there is no other underlying or core business activity from which it originally grew. Instead, the company consists of a highly specialized team of investment bankers, finance specialists, and attorneys whose members have proven themselves professionally and strive to continuously create value for investors.
Shares in Global Investment Holding have been trading on the Istanbul Stock Exchange since 3 January 2005.
Global Investment Holding believes that, based on the combined expertise and experience of Ege Ports and the group’s partners, it can make Port Akdeniz one of Europe’s safest, most productive, and most efficiently operated and managed multi-function ports.
